Every car wash and donation helps provide food, veterinary care, shelter, and lifelong love for the senior dogs at Pattie’s Waggin’ Tails Senior Sanctuary.

Every day brings something new—mixing up tasty snacks for the pigs, giving alpacas a refreshing spray on hot afternoons, watching the vet and clinic team in action, tidying up cozy goat stalls, or turning everyday items into awesome art as Environmental Superheroes. Our amazing animal teachers make every moment magical! We’ll also enjoy creative art projects, fun indoor and outdoor games, and plenty of nature exploration. Lunch and snacks are included.

Join us for our Third Quarter NEPA Animal Welfare Collaborative Meeting as we continue working together to strengthen animal welfare throughout our region.

We’ll share collaborative updates, discuss current initiatives, hear from partner organizations, and explore opportunities to continue advancing animal welfare across NEPA.

Working in animal welfare can be incredibly rewarding—but it can also be emotionally demanding. The Resilient Professionals Mastery Series (RPMS) is an evidence-informed continuing education program designed to help helping professionals restore resilience, prevent burnout, and reconnect with their purpose.

This immersive program is ideal for professionals in animal welfare, veterinary medicine, healthcare, mental health, education, social services, and other caregiving fields. Participants will explore trauma-informed resilience practices, mindfulness and self-care strategies, animal-assisted learning, individual coaching, and opportunities for community connection. Continuing education credits are available for multiple professions.

Join Pattie Rogers and Paul Cassidy of Pattie’s Waggin’ Tails Senior Sanctuary for an inspiring presentation about their Senior Citizens for Senior Dogs Forever Foster Program, a unique initiative serving older adults and senior dogs in our community.

This program matches senior dogs with senior citizens, creating meaningful companionship while eliminating the financial barriers of pet ownership. Pattie’s Waggin’ Tails Senior Sanctuary provides veterinary care, food, and ongoing support, allowing both people and pets to enjoy the benefits of a loving home.

Through heartfelt rescue stories—and with two special guest senior dogs in attendance—you’ll learn:

• How senior dogs are rescued and given a second chance
• The positive impact companion animals can have on older adults
• How the Forever Foster Program works
• Ways to get involved through fostering, volunteering, or supporting the sanctuary’s mission

A question-and-answer session will follow the presentation.

This event will include a 5K, 10K, and Fun Walk, giving runners, walkers, families, and animal lovers a chance to come together for a great cause.

All proceeds benefit Griffin Pond Animal Shelter and help provide food, medical care, shelter, and second chances for animals in need.

Whether you run solo, walk with friends, or form a team, your participation will make a difference for the dogs and cats of Griffin Pond.

Race day begins at 9:00 AM at the Olive Street Pavilion.
Registration is $30 for the 5K, $35 for the 10K, and $30 for the Fun Walk.

Everyone who registers by August 16th will receive a free Rescue Run T-Shirt

This event is free to the public. If you want to enter a car in the car show it is $10. Judging begins at 11 am. There will be music, raffles, 50/50, adoptable dogs, & food trucks.

If it happens to rain the rain date is scheduled for September 27, 2026.

Barktober Fest is held at Maiolatesi Wine Cellars from 12 pm to 5 pm. There will be vendors, music, raffles, 50/50, adoptable dogs, and food trucks.

Bring a lawn chair, your dog, have some wine or beer.

Tickets are $25 with a souvenir glass with two wine or beer tickets, or $10 general admission without any drinking.
